Life Cover FAQ's

Q Who can I cover on my life policy?
A
You can cover yourself and your spouse (as defined by common law or if you are married) on one life policy if you are between the ages of 18 and 75. You can also include your children on the policy if they are between the ages of 2 and 18 (or up to the age of 21 if they are full time students).
Q If I have a pre-existing health condition will this life policy cover me?
A
All pre-existing conditions are excluded on the Standard Life Policy so you will not be covered. Another life policy may be offered that will cover you for existing health conditions.
Q How long will it take for the cover to be paid to my beneficiary/ies in the event of my death?
A
The Funeral Comforter Benefit on your life policy will be finalised and paid within 24 hours after the receipt of the minimal required documentation.

Should your Policy not contain the Funeral Comforter Benefit then a full assessment of the claim will be made once all the additional required documentation is received. We endeavour to finalise all claims as soon as reasonably possible. Additional documents include:

  • Post Mortem results for Unnatural death
  • Medical information for Natural death
  • Police documentation when required
