Clientèle team takes on the Argus

03 Jul 13

The Clientèle Cycle Club will be leaving a mark, or rather tyre tracks at the largest individually timed race in the world - the 36th Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour, commonly known as the Argus, this Sunday, 10 March 2013.

Starting at the Cape Town Civic Centre, the race is 110 km in length circling through a coastal route known for fierce winds and calf busting hills. Being a magnet for those with a thirst for adventure, it is no surprise that Gavin Soll, Executive Director at Clientèle Limited will be leading the team on this ride.

The first event took place in 1978 to raise awareness about the lack of bike paths in South Africa, which drew hundreds of riders. This year, with 35 000 cyclists taking part in the Argus, all proceeds raised will be equally split between the Pedal Power Association and the Rotary Club of Claremont. These organisations use the funds for cycling development and a large number of charitable organisations, schools and projects.
